About the Department

Research at the department is at many different levels, from the whole plant level to sub-cellular levels and we use physiological, biochemical and molecular methods.

We are using state of he art techniques like proteomics and metabolomics together with new advanced molecular techniques to study plant stress, photosynthesis and metabolism, protein degradation, protein trafficking, signalling and geneticvariability. Together with our sister department within UPSC we are currently granted a Berzelius strong research environment mainly focused towards forest biotechnology, UPSC Centre for Forest Biotechnology.
We are also teaching at courses in plant physiology at the batchelors level and within UPSC we have a masters program in Plant and Forest biotechnology.
